CENTENNIAL GLEN - KANIMBLA VALLEY
On the western side of Blackheath, as well as Hargraves Lookout and Mount Blackheath Lookout you can travel down to Centennial Glen in the Kanimbla Valley.
Another awe-inspiring area approximately 15 minutes (10.5K) from Blackheath, is Centennial Glen in the Kanimbla Valley.
It's a lovely drive down Shipley Road, turning right into Mount Blackheath Road but continuing on down Kanimbla Drive instead of going left to Mount Blackheath. The road is lined with the ever present beautiful gum trees and a lush undergrowth of ferns against sandstone cliff
Once in the quiet, tranquil and secluded valley you can look up and around at the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and their dramatic sandstone faces that change colour with the time of day - with simply magnificent colours at sunset.
Activities at Centennial Glen and in Kanimbla Valley are bushwalking, mountain bike riding, rock climbing and horse riding. Centennial Glen Stables offers rides through bushland, dirt roads and farmlands with fantastic views of the Blue Mountains escarpment, with rides ranging from 1 hour to all day horse adventures.
There are some accommodation establishments in the valley.
