Blackheath Rhododendron Festival
The Blackheath Rhododendron Festival is held annually in October - November at Blackheath Village in the Blue Mountains NSW.
It is the longest continuously running festival in the southern hemisphere.
In early November there is Rhodo Saturday and the fabulous Rhododendron Festival Grand Parade. 
Blackheath village comes alive with live music, dancing and entertainment in the park and footpath displays.
There is a wide variety of entertainment - from poet's breakfast and music in the pub to market stalls, food and drink, floral displays, coal shovelling and lots of other outdoor entertainment.

Throughout the Festival weekend there are many varied stalls, entertaining activities and music for the whole family.

In mid October the Grand Opening is held with the crowning of the Rhododendron Princess.
This is followed a week later with opening of the Art Exhibition at the Blackheath Community Centre, displaying the work of local and popular artists and includes sections for painting, photographic portraiture, drawing, traditional and contemporary styles.  The Art Exhibition continues up to and over, the Grand Parade weekend.
